Chapter 3. Formation of the Sub-Committees of the Holy Synod

Sub-Committees of the Pastoral Care and Services Committee

The Holy Synod has approved the sub-committees of the Pastoral Care and Services Committee that were established within the activities of the Committee over the course of the previous years. These sub-committees have been recorded in the latest records that have been submitted in the previous years, which are as follows:

  1. Guest houses.
  2. Strengthening the faith.
  3. Prisons and crime prevention.
  4. Expatriate houses.
  5. Service of the elderly.
  6. Religious education.
  7. Orthodoxy and challenges.
  8. Information Communication Technology.
  9. Service of the needy and orphanages.
  10. Anti-addiction.
  11. Economic development.
  12. Family service.
  13. Centres of hope for service of the sick.
  14. Children services.
  15. Administrative management affairs.
  16. Service of rehousing of special cases.
  17. Care for Priests and their families.
  18. National participation.
  19. Healthcare.
  20. Care for graduates.
  21. Broadcasting Committee.

Regarding the Broadcasting Committee, this was formed from the Pastoral Care and Services Committee in the report that was submitted to the Holy Synod on the date of this meeting (22/05/2010) to be supervised by His Grace Bishop Pakhomious together with the ICT sub-committee to authorise the material that is to be published and the information that is broadcast on the Pastoral Care and Services Committee website. It was also recommended that this principle be applied generally to the other Permanent Committees of the Holy Synod, if deemed suitable by those committees. The Holy Synod agreed to the formation of this sub-committee and its recommendation.
