Chapter 20. Faith, Education and Legislation

Warnings against Jehovah's Witnesses and Adventists

Original Arabic Text

In the meeting on 17/06/1989

The Holy Synod decided to consider both Jehovah's Witnesses and the Adventists as non-Christians; not to recognise their Bible translations; to warn our people not to attend their meetings; and not enter their homes like other heretics and false preachers.

In the meeting on 17/06/2000

His Holiness warned against the activity of the Adventists. They have Family Foods company and Avon company, and they are trying to pressure their workers to divert them from the Orthodox doctrine.

They have a big meeting in the town of Bab Al-Hadid, so a meeting is required for the churches of Faggala and Al-Zahir, and books are to be distributed to them to respond to the beliefs of the Adventists.

In the meeting on 22/06/2002

The Holy Synod agreed that Bishops should pay attention to addressing the hectic activity of the Seventh Day Adventists, especially from Jalal Doss, and follow and collect the books and publications that they [the Adventists] send to the people, and replace them with doctrinal Orthodox books or spiritual books. Sound beliefs are to be explained at all levels in exchange for doctrinal errors of this heresy, in light of what was published by His Holiness the Pope in the Al-Karaza magazine in 1992 and 2002.
