Establishment of the British Orthodox Church


Regarding the ordination of a Metropolitan for the British Orthodox Church in England:

A Statement of Faith has been preapred which is attached to the meeting file setting out the main points and the points which differ between Orthodox, Protestants and Catholics.

A new Protocol was put in place determining this Church’s relationship with the Church in Egypt after the ordination of a special metropolitan for it. The role of this Church is the service of native Britons in Britain who have joined the Church, without any interference by Copts who are of Egyptian origin in Britain, and their descendants, even if they marry Britons. Those Copts can have Bishops specific for them see the text of the Protocol at Appendix No. 5-A
