Importance of conducting pre-marriage medical examination

The Holy Synod discussed the recommendation of the Diocesans Affairs Committee regarding the importance of conducting a medical examination of the two fiancées before marriage to avoid problems that might occur between them when these are discovered after marriage. His Holiness has asked for a gradual application of this system so that it is not compulsory.
