Chapter 19. Rituals

Role of female choirs in liturgucal services

Original Arabic Text

It is prohibited for young girls, female children or female youths to wear special uniforms in the liturgical prayers, or stand like a choir at the front of the women’s pews to chant hymns during liturgical prayers generally. They may join the rest of the congregation (which includes the women) in the congregational responses, together with the Cantors and the Choir of Deacons, without differentiating them [the girls].
