HG Bishop Amonios cease works in the Diocese of Luxor


With the leadership of His Holiness Pope Shenouda III and the attendance of 76 members of the Holy Synod, and His Grace Bishop Amonios;

after lengthy investigations undertaken over several days by the committees of the Holy Synod;

based on the previous recommendations of the Diocesans Affairs Committee to convene a meeting of the Synod, signed by His Holiness the Pope and a large number of the members of the Holy Synod;

following His Holiness’s explanation of the purpose of the meeting;

the Holy Synod decided unanimously:

"His Grace Bishop Amonios cease his Episcopal works while staying in his monastery, and he be prohibited from attending the Diocese of Luxor until further decree by the Synod, and with a Papal Deposition to manage the Diocese. "
