Warnings against engaging with Protestants in sporting activities

Original Arabic Text

The Holy Synod also approved the following recommendations of the Diocesans Affairs Committee:

  1. Conducting an intense sporting activity for all ages, and using the existing stadiums attached to Coptic churches, schools and societies, to be used in youth activities, especially in summer vacations. There may also be construction or rental of other stadiums as needed, and distribution of promotional prizes. There should also be interest in the formation and development of scouts in churches for all ages.
  2. To warn parents, who have sons or daughters studying in schools that have a Protestant or Catholic administration, not to participate permanently in the sporting activity carrying Protestant education that is different from our doctrine, and not to be deceived by prizes and the temptation of entertainment.
  3. Warning the Protestant leaderships in each location from the continuation of this program, which revealed its purposes, and to distance itself from the members of our Church.
  4. To take interest in establishing Coptic Orthodox schools to accommodate the children of the Church who want special care.
