Details to be included in the Engagement Report

The following are the statements that the Holy Synod has acknowledged must be observed and written down attached to the Engagement Report, signed by all people involved, followed by some instructions that must be adhered to.

After examination and agreement, the following is established:

The suitor admits by the proxy……. Connection …….

The fiancée admits by the proxy ……... Connection ……...

Regarding kinship or intermarriage between the two betrothed: (there is/there is not) and their information .........

The two betrothed admitted that they were Orthodox and had accepted submission and determination according to the law of the Coptic Orthodox Church.

In the event that one of the betrothed is widowed, the date of the death of the late husband or late wife is.......

The two betrothed admitted that they had accepted the betrothal of their own free will and choice.

The fiancé gave the fiancée a ring worth……... only and valued it …… and the details are as follows …….

The two fiancées decided that the completion of their marriage should be at a fixed at the latest date of month ………and year …….

The period between the writing of the engagement report and the marriage contract should not be less than forty days, and cases less than that should be presented to the Bishop or the Clerical Council.
